FOOTBALL TRAINING CAMP

Ekerum Resort on Öland is perhaps Sweden’s hottest facility for training camps and offers natural grass pitches of the highest quality early in the year. The resort opened up for training camps as late as the summer of 2018 and has had several different national teams on training camps.

The big advantage of training camps on Öland is that the island is built on sand, whereas the rest of Sweden is built on clay, which means that the football pitches are more optimal because they are not as muddy as mainland pitches and maintain a higher quality all year round.

Ekerum Resort is about 25 km from Kalmar.

HOTEL

The hotel Ekerum Resort on Öland has more than 400 beds. Accommodation is in comfort or premium apartments where you can choose to stay. The apartments at the resort are 55 square metres and all apartments have two separate bedrooms that are stylishly decorated.

You are also offered a wonderful view of the first tee on Låne Jan and Kalmarsund that spreads out in the background. We also offer accommodation in Gårdsvillan. Here you can live as many as six people in a private house with a garden and a patio. The villas have two floors with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room.

This could be the perfect option for those who want to stay more spacious and in the company of their teammates during their training camp. The cottage area at Ekerum Village consists of 14 cottages in three different sizes, from 6 to 10 beds. The cottages are well-equipped for year-round living. The hotel also has a gym, padel courts, spa and indoor pool, as well as two 18-hole golf courses.

All meals during your training camp take place in the hotel’s restaurant, which serves home cooking of the highest quality.

TRAINING

Ekerum is more than just football on your training camp and the options are many. During your football camp you can try padel, golf, boule, running tracks, tennis, yoga and mountain biking. At Ekerum, they are extremely serious about their football pitches and have Sweden’s best natural grass pitches. The football pitches are built with expertise from the golf industry.

The football pitches measure the standard UEFA dimensions of 68 x 105 metres. The football pitches are surrounded by beautiful scenery and have natural stands in the form of earth embankments for spectators. For larger events, traditional stands can also be built with chairs.

Ekerum Resort has hosted many teams at training camps and some examples of teams that have been here over the years are: IFK Norrköping, Belgium U21, Sweden U21, Sweden F17, Hanvikens SK, Täby FK, Hammarby IF, Italy U21, BK Derby and many more.
